DMOZ and Yahoo directories no more important says Google

Over the years there has been a lot of buzz to submit you website or blog link to high Page Rank (PR) directories like DMOZ or Yahoo web directories. By submitting the link to these web directories it was also easy to get your website indexed in search engines. Earlier it was also a Google guideline to webmasters:

Submit your site to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project and Yahoo!, as well as to other industry-specific expert sites.

But recently Google has brought changes to Webmasters guidelines and removed all the points from Webmasters guidelines regarding the directory submission of your website to Yahoo or DMOZ. Though the experts at WebProNews consider it is a move to remove the spammy or wasteful links to get indexed in high PR directories.

But we view it as another move of Google to be as Monopolistic as possible in search engine and internet business. Google is launching its products at a rapid rate to capture maximum web or technology related business like new Ajax APIs and Google book search.

Lets see which is the next small company Google acquires or which IT giant will be hit by them.
