Gmail has decided that it will not let surivive other web based email clients. Starting from today Gmail will allow you to import all your previous emails and contacts from Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL etc.
So if you are looking to shift from other email clients to Gmail but feared loss of contacts or previous emails this feature shall work out perfectly for you.
Here are the steps:
1.) Click the Settings link on top of Gmail.
2.) Under the Accounts and Import tab, click the Import mail and contacts button.
3.) A pop window will open which will prompt you to add your email like abc@yahoo.com if doing from yahoo or abc@hotmail.com if doing from Hotmail
4.) Check out important contacts, emails and Start Import.
5.) Within 24-48 hours your work will be done.
That’s good work by Gmail.
