The start to the calendar year 2009 has surely been a gloomy one for IT sector. First it was a Microsoft Zune failure and now this sensational hacking of high profile accounts.

The news.com article says that you might have seen these twitter messages :

CONSERVATIVE political commentator Bill O’Reilly is gay and CNN personality Rick Sanchez is high on drugs, if you are to believe their Twitter accounts (after several high-profile accounts were taken over by hackers).

US President-elect Barack Obama, Britney Spears and The Huffington Post were all hit by what Twitter described as “a very serious breach of security.

This a serious problem which twitter must deal because I’m also a twitter user and fear that my account might be next on hackers list.
