TRUSTe helps millions of consumers identify trustworthy online organizations through its Web Privacy Seal, Email Privacy Seal and Trusted Download Programs. They have released a list of most secure websites in 2008.

American Express once again leads the ways by being the number one secure website on Internet world. Though there have been not major changes apart from some ups and downs but there are few new entrants to it.

Here is a list of top 20 released by Truste Website:

2008 Ranking 2008 Ranking
1 American Express (remained number one) 12 Intuit (+7)
2 eBay (+6) 13 WebMD (-1)
3 IBM (no change) 14 Yahoo! (new to the top 20)
4 Amazon (+1) 15 Facebook (new to the top 20)
5 Johnson & Johnson (+1) 16 Disney (-1)
6 Hewlett Packard (+10) 16 AOL (-12)

Yahoo has made a surprise entry along with Fedex, Facebook and Verizon. Though yahoo is a multidimensional web portal but to maintain such high standards is highly commendable.

Editor’s Note: I was personally surprised not to see Microsoft and Google in this list.
