Earlier this Wednesday with loss in the market and drop in Q4 profit Ericsson decided to cut down 5,000 employees. Now with a poor performance this quarter Microsoft will also be axing 5000 employees.
As Per information week:
Total sales at the software maker were up a marginal 1.6% year-over-year in the second quarter, to $16.63 billion, but Microsoft’s net income slumped 11% during the period, to $4.17 billion.
1,400 of those 5,000 positions will be eliminated by the end of the month, the company said.
