It has been an exciting October 2008 in IT industry. where most of the IT giants like Google, Microsoft, Yahoo etc. are going local from global development. On one hand we saw the launch of Adsense for Game Websites by Google and on the other hand we see the evolution of Microsoft Tech News Aggregator. Now its Yahoo’s turn to press the heat on.

Yahoo has been silently slipping on the useful web services. In the previous months Yahoo has successful launched of Yahoo Glue plages (a comprehensive search engine) and its own social bookmarking service Yahoo Buzz, a few days back Now( On October 8th, 2008) Yahoo has rolled a new service called Yahoo! Web Analytics in beta phase which promises to provide you with powerful to evaluate the web traffic, performance other aspects like designs.

Jitendra Kavathekar VP, Yahoo Web Analytics at Yahoo Corporate blog said that:

We’re rolling the service out in phases for the remainder of 2008 and into next year. The first big deployment is Yahoo! Small Business, whose 13,000 hosted e-commerce customers can get set up just in time for the holiday shopping season at the click of a button. We have already started to roll Yahoo! Web Analytics out to advertisers who seek Yahoo!’s help to build custom micro-sites, as well as to third-party application developers who build widgets and other mini-apps for Yahoo! users via our developer network or our new Yahoo! Open Strategy tools.

Lets see if this Yahoo product (Yahoo Web Analytics) is powerful enough to challenge the mighty Google Web Analytics who have also rolled in support for keywords and Mobile Adsense Tracking. Or its just like Ymail kind of things which just a carbon copy of another Google product Gmail.
